Design for a reserved pavilion inside a shared park
Lake Zurich's parks guidance says neighborhood pavilions are available first come, first served, while Paulus Park pavilions may be reserved and otherwise used when not already booked. The village also states that it cannot guarantee privacy and that a reservation covers only the facility being used. These distinctions make the reservation status essential information: a fixed event footprint should be based on confirmed use, not the hope that a favorite pavilion will be empty on arrival.
Use the approved footprint, not the whole lawn
For a Paulus Park reservation, ask the village to identify the pavilion boundary and any additional area approved for your event. Place photo-taking, food service and balloon supports within that scope. A large entrance feature can unintentionally suggest that other visitors cannot pass, so discuss positioning relative to public circulation. Include rental furniture in the same sketch rather than treating each vendor's equipment as a separate, unmeasured addition.
Prepare for a public park that keeps operating
The village warns that public improvements or construction may occur during reservations. Before the event, ask whether work affects your approved unloading point or route to the pavilion; do not infer that construction is currently present. Send updated instructions to the decor and catering teams together. If the event needs uninterrupted presentation space or a controlled reception entrance, discuss whether a different type of venue better suits that requirement.

Frequently asked questions
Can I count on an unreserved neighborhood pavilion?
Lake Zurich describes neighborhood pavilions as first come, first served. That is not a confirmed exclusive event location. Before ordering an installation dependent on one exact structure, ask the village which reservation or alternative venue arrangement fits your gathering.
Does a Paulus Park reservation include all nearby amenities?
No. The village says the reservation covers the facility being used, not the entire park or its other facilities, and does not guarantee privacy. Give the decorator the approved footprint so displays and photo queues do not spread into shared areas.
