Define the Prairie Room and gym roles separately

Northbrook Park District advertises facility rooms for private events alongside gymnasiums, athletic fields, picnic areas and shelters. Its directory also identifies Techny Prairie Activity Center rental options. That variety is useful only when the requested space matches the event's activities. A reception needs a recognizable welcome and space to converse; a sports component needs unobstructed movement. Confirm which rooms or areas are included and whether the event changes location before developing the decor and supporting rental plan.

Build a meeting-to-celebration transition on paper

If the Prairie Room is your selected venue, explain whether it will host a presentation, refreshments, photographs or a combination. A compact branded display can remain visible during a meeting without using the space needed for audience seating. If tables will be rearranged later, identify who does that and when. Do not rely on moving an installed balloon structure mid-event unless the method, staffing and venue permission are part of the plan.

Keep an activity zone genuinely usable

For a gym or field component, ask the park district to designate any acceptable decor position relative to play and spectator movement. A separate welcome or awards location may be more practical than a feature immediately beside the activity. If an outdoor shelter is also requested, verify that it is part of the reservation rather than assuming it accompanies athletic use. Give each location its own arrival and removal instructions.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Techny Prairie rental automatically include both room and gym?

The district identifies the Prairie Room and gymnasium as rental options, but the directory does not make them an automatic package. Use your agreement to confirm which space is included and ask about any additional booking needed for an activity component.

Should I send Northbrook's indoor or outdoor application information?

Send the confirmation for the specific space you are using. The district separates indoor and outdoor rentals and also offers athletic facilities. That distinction helps avoid applying a shelter layout or access assumption to an indoor reception or gym-based gathering.
