Separate the museum visit from the private-event footprint
The Illinois Railway Museum's group information identifies its Union site on Olson Road and describes docent tours, private train charters and indoor and outdoor rental spaces. Named options include East Union Depot and outdoor settings such as Central Pavilion. These are components to discuss with the museum, not automatic inclusions with admission. Establish the group's itinerary and the reserved event location before choosing a welcome feature, photo backdrop or additional rental furniture.
Give the train schedule priority over photo queues
For an organization outing that includes a charter or programmed train trip, schedule group photographs around the museum's confirmed itinerary. A balloon display should not become a bottleneck as guests move toward their next activity. Ask the museum where a stationary feature can stand and who directs vendor access. Do not assume that group admission authorizes decorations on railway equipment, boarding areas or routes used by other visitors.
Choose the rental setting before planning the theme
An East Union Depot gathering and a Central Pavilion picnic require different measurements, support decisions and weather planning. Ask which space fits your event and whether tables or other equipment are included before adding rentals. Railway-inspired colors or signage can connect the design to the outing without attaching anything to museum artifacts. Keep the installation entirely within the museum-approved event area and agree on removal that fits the site's operating arrangements.

Frequently asked questions
Does a museum group ticket include a decorated private space?
The museum describes group admission, tours, charters and rental spaces separately. Ask its group coordinator what your booking includes and obtain approval for the proposed decor. Admission alone should not be treated as a private-event reservation or permission to install balloons.
Which Union address should vendors receive?
The museum identifies its site at 7000 Olson Road, Union, Illinois. Add the museum-approved vendor entrance, meeting contact and reserved space to that address. A large museum visit needs more detailed delivery directions than the town name or a general ticket confirmation.
