Let the guest list guide Winnetka's facility choice
The district's facility-rental page describes the Platform Tennis Hut for up to 50 adults and specifies adult-only parties there. It also describes smaller tennis gathering spaces and says Elder Lane Beach House is not currently available to rent. These are useful filters before styling begins. Confirm the current facility and guest eligibility first; then consider whether the occasion needs a compact social backdrop, a welcome feature or a separate place for group portraits.
Keep hut decor clear of social and court movement
For an approved adult gathering at the Platform Tennis Hut, the district lists a serving island, kitchen-prep area, refrigerator and fireplace, along with court use. Ask which routes connect the social space and courts and where a photo feature can stand without interrupting them. The room's existing furnishings should lead the layout. Avoid sizing an installation as though all of the stated occupant capacity translates into open floor space.
Do not build a backup around an unavailable beach house
The checked page explicitly marks Elder Lane Beach House unavailable. If a beach setting is essential, ask the district which option is currently bookable rather than carrying that location into the proposal as a fallback. Any replacement needs its own seasonal and access confirmation. For a meeting or reception in a tennis lounge instead, reduce the concept to the smaller room's scale and clarify food arrangements before placing decor near the kitchen area.

Frequently asked questions
Can a mixed-age family party use the Platform Tennis Hut?
The district's page states that parties in the hut are for adults only. Discuss the guest list with staff before selecting it. If children are attending, ask about another eligible facility rather than assuming a family celebration qualifies because it is privately booked.
Is Elder Lane Beach House a reliable weather backup?
Not based on the checked rental page, which says it is not currently available to rent. Obtain a confirmed alternative directly from the district. A backup is useful only when it is actually approved and its footprint can accommodate the event and decor.
