Scope Civic Center decor through the building manager
The City of Hammond identifies the Civic Center at 5825 Sohl Avenue and describes its stadium as a venue for sports events, concerts, trade shows and other large functions. The city directs rental questions to the building manager. That makes the manager or event coordinator the right starting point for an installation location, not assumptions drawn from a small party room. Establish whether the feature belongs to the whole event, one exhibitor or a private reception.
Distinguish event branding from exhibitor branding
A show-wide welcome arch and a booth-level photo feature occupy very different kinds of space. If you are exhibiting rather than organizing, request the organizer's approved footprint and ask how vendor delivery is handled. Keep the proposed structure within that allocation and preserve sightlines to neighboring participants. If you are the organizer, identify the registration and audience routes before choosing the principal branded focal point for the larger function.
Coordinate installation with the event operation
Sports, concerts and trade shows can use the same building differently. Ask the building contact which entrance, unloading location and access period apply to your particular event, and whether installation needs coordination with floor or stage preparation. Put those answers in the brief rather than using public opening hours as vendor access. Include removal arrangements so decorative equipment does not remain where the next activity needs the floor.

Frequently asked questions
Which Hammond should be on the delivery request?
Use Hammond, Indiana, with the complete venue address. For the Civic Center, the city lists 5825 Sohl Avenue. This avoids confusing the request with municipal facilities in other states and lets delivery eligibility be considered for the actual destination.
Who approves a Civic Center balloon installation?
Start with the building manager or the event organizer working with that manager. The city's Civic Center page directs rental enquiries to 219-853-6378. Confirm the installation area, organizer requirements and access instructions; a design proposal itself does not grant venue permission.
