Keep the Civic Center's activity and food zones separate
The village's rental page identifies the Civic Center gym and kitchen at 302 Willow Street, along with Lions and McAdams park pavilions. Its rules make event format important: food is not allowed in the gym, liquor is never allowed inside the Civic Center, and bounce houses are prohibited on village property. A workable balloon concept should be built around those specific limits rather than a generic party package assembled before venue review.
Give a gym celebration a non-food focal point
If the gym is reserved for games or an organizational gathering, a recognition display can frame awards or group photographs without implying that a buffet belongs there. Confirm separately how the kitchen may be used and where guests may eat. Keep supports away from active play and leave equipment access clear. A gym-and-kitchen package still does not cancel the published no-food rule for the gym itself, so map the event sequence accordingly.
Match paperwork to the kind of host
Maple Park distinguishes insurance documentation for businesses, leagues and organizations from the confirmation form used for family gatherings. Have the village identify the documents applicable to your event before finalizing supplier arrangements. If considering a pavilion rather than the Civic Center, ask about its particular setup area and approved equipment. Do not add a bounce house to a broader rental request: the village expressly prohibits them on its property.

Frequently asked questions
Does renting the Civic Center kitchen allow food in the gym?
No. The village lists gym/kitchen combinations but separately states that food is not allowed in the gym. Ask where refreshments may be served and consumed, then locate balloons and furniture around that approved arrangement rather than planning a gym-floor banquet.
Are the insurance requirements identical for every host?
The published rules distinguish business and organizational renters from families gathering privately. Ask the village which paperwork applies to your booking. A decorator's involvement does not replace the host's required documents, and this page does not promise that any particular insurance arrangement will be accepted.
