Distinguish Oakton's activity space from its gathering space
Park Ridge Park District lists Oakton Sports Complex at 2800 West Oakton Street, with indoor athletic-field, ice-rink, training-room and multipurpose-room rentals. Its patio is offered separately as an add-on or stand-alone rental. That creates useful flexibility, but not automatic access to every space. An event brief should identify where food, speeches and photographs happen and which sports areas, if any, are part of the booking.
Give the awards moment its own approved location
A team banquet or corporate activity day can benefit from a backdrop in the booked gathering room while the athletic area remains dedicated to play. Ask the venue about the path between those spaces and any restrictions on moving assembled décor. If you want photographs immediately after an activity, allow a place for people to gather without queuing in a rink or field access route.
Do not treat the patio as automatic overflow
The district lists the outdoor patio as a rental option, including an add-on to a room. Confirm it specifically if your design depends on an outside welcome display or a second photograph area. Discuss an indoor alternative that fits the actual room rather than assuming patio décor can move inside unchanged. The venue should approve both placements and any effect on furniture, food service or guest circulation.

Frequently asked questions
Does an Oakton room rental include the outdoor patio?
The district lists patio rental separately, including an add-on option. Check your agreement rather than assuming it is included, especially if you plan to place décor outside or rely on the patio for guests who are not participating in sports.
Is South Park Recreation Center another name for Oakton?
No. The district lists South Park Recreation Center at 833 West Talcott Road and Oakton Sports Complex at 2800 West Oakton Street. Use the exact building and room on your booking so the delivery plan reaches the correct venue.
