Plan Woods Creek deliveries without using the Emergency Trail

The Village describes Woods Creek Park on Creekside Drive as a 12-acre neighborhood park with a shelter, play equipment, soccer goals and softball backstops. Its parking area also serves as a basketball court, while the paved Emergency Trail provides fire-department access and prohibits vehicular traffic. These are practical constraints on event scoping, not evidence of a private rental offer. Ask the Village whether your proposed gathering and installation are allowed before designing around the shelter.

Measure the carry route, not just the road distance

If an event is approved, have the operator identify where suppliers can unload and the route equipment must travel on foot. Larger supports or rental pieces may be impractical if the plan assumes driving along the Emergency Trail. Give the decorator photos of that approved approach, including turns and surface changes. Keep emergency access unobstructed throughout setup, the gathering and collection rather than considering it only after guests arrive.

Account for the parking area's second purpose

Because the Village says the parking lot doubles as a basketball court, do not independently designate that entire surface for vendors, photo queues or guest seating. Ask how the space may be used for the proposed event and whether normal recreation continues nearby. A compact shelter-focused celebration may be easier to scope than a sprawling entrance treatment. Any revised plan still needs approval; reducing the decor does not create a reservation.

Frequently asked questions

Can a delivery van use Woods Creek Park's paved trail?

The Village explicitly says vehicular traffic is not allowed on the Emergency Trail. Arrange an approved unloading point and walking route instead. Do not infer an exception for decorators or furniture suppliers from the fact that the trail is paved.

Does the Woods Creek shelter listing confirm private-event rental?

No. The checked Village page lists the shelter as an amenity but does not establish a private rental process. Ask the Village about the gathering, proposed installation and permitted area before using the park as a confirmed event destination.
